About Me

I sculpt in wax with fire! I derive inspiration for my figurative bronze sculptures from my study of dance, and invite the viewer to share my love of "life theatre". Inflicted by a congenial defect in my lower spine, I struggled with the study of dance movement and ultimately decided to find a new love in the clay and use my ability to translate my kinetic sense and knowledge of anatomy into a solid form, thus capturing the "human dance." I have exhibited at Lincoln Center in New York City, at the Beverly Hills artAffaire in the Gardens and as far away as Edinburgh, Scotland and Osaka, Japan.

My work has been featured in American Art Collector magazine, Southwest Art magazine, and The Houston Post in an interview about religion and art. If you’d like to learn more, please click here.

THE PROCESS of BRONZE

The bronze casting process is medieval. It involves crude materials, extreme heat and chemicals and is very labor intensive. It used to take weeks just to melt the bronze. My bronze sculptures are fine art. They are not mass-produced; they are issued in limited editions, which means once the 9th casting out of a limited edition of 9 is made for each respective piece, the mold is destroyed. No more sculptures will be cast for that particular piece.

Each piece is signed and numbered to ensure its authenticity. Each piece will last many lifetimes. All this helps maintain their value.

I have already created the sculpture in my mind. I know the lines, the form, the flow of energy. I confront a cold block of wax and with ancient tools and torch, I impose my will upon it to create something new, something more beautiful. I sculpt with fire!
